Our Story

Our Origin

Don’t Forget to Bloom was created
in memory of Jonathan (Jon) Miller.

Jonathan was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend.  He cared deeply for others and was always there for them in their time of need.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and frequently made others laugh and smile.

From late in his teen years, Jonathan lived with mental illness, specifically, anxiety and depression.  For many years, he worked with therapists, psychiatrists and took medication.  Even on the happiest of days, his anxiety and depression were still very much with him.  In February of 2019, Jonathan passed away, succumbing to the struggles with his mental health.

Throughout his life, Jonathan was an artist, musician, photographer, and skateboarder.  Jonathan’s art had a unique sense of style, and he willingly shared it with those he met along the way.  His work often included positive messages that continue to encourage others.  Jonathan’s art is a wonderful legacy to continue to admire and inspire.

Don’t Forget to Bloom was created to shed a light on mental illness to stop the stigma by educating, sharing resources, and providing children and young adults opportunities for creativity and self-expression.
